Welcome to Journey to Healthcare's online Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis Management training course, tailored specifically for healthcare professionals working in primary care settings, as well as sixth formers and schools.

Our comprehensive course is designed to align with the latest guidelines from the Resuscitation Council, ensuring that participants are equipped with the necessary skills to effectively manage cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in both adults and children, as well as address choking and anaphylaxis emergencies.

Our course meets the recommendations for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for healthcare and social care workers, providing peace of mind for employers and regulatory compliance.

Course Content

  • Signs of cardiac arrest.

  • Signs of choking and management.

  • Primary assessment in casualties.

  • How to perform CPR in adults (including pregnant women and people with breasts), children and infants.

  • How to use automatic external defibrillators (AEDs).

  • How to manage anaphylactic shock .

  • Use of autoinjectors.

  • How to perform handover to paramedics.

Who is the Course For?

This online BLS course is ideal for healthcare and social care professionals, including those working in primary care settings, as well as students pursuing full-time education in healthcare fields.

Course Aims

  • Provide participants with the knowledge and skills to recognise signs of clinical deterioration.

  • Ensure understanding of legislation and guidelines outlined by the Resuscitation Council regarding basic life support.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify signs of deterioration.

  • Respond effectively to suspected cardiac arrest.

  • Administer airway management techniques for collapsed adults and children.

  • Perform CPR according to current guidelines.

  • Understand the concept of DNACPR.

  • Facilitate smooth handovers to paramedics during emergencies.

  • Utilise an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
